Great in 2008...

That's my personal motto for this year.
Needless to say, I am optimistic about the upcoming months. 2007 set the bar high (with all the new friends, amazing trips, concerts, etc), but I truly believe that this will be a landmark year as well...despite the rocky start.

Some promising things about 2008...

1. RUNNING AWAY - I plan on taking a few random trips during the year (possibly one to California in late summer and another to Colorado in the fall)...but I am most excited about my trip to Paris, France for a friend's wedding in May!

2. KNOT TO BE TIED - Along with the wedding mentioned above, I have several good friends
tying the knot . The marriage festivities all begin this upcoming weekend, and the other weddings are sprinkled throughout the rest of the year. Looks like I'll be earning my 6th bridesmaid dress. :-)

3. SANITY TEST - I've definitely been given several challenges at work this year, including coordinating two of the largest UIL athletic state tournaments (Girls' and Boys' Basketball) and organizing our 100th Anniversary Planning Committee. It will be a huge accomplishment if I can make it through mid-March without a meltdown.

4. START-UPS - My parents are jumping into a new business venture by opening up their own State Farm agency in February. I'm thrilled (and more than a little anxious) to see how they will fare at a new trade after several years in the family retail business.

Plus...I would like to change my current disposition toward even numbered years. Strange as this may sound,
it seemed that even numbered years (1986, 1992, 2000, etc) were historically lousy, whereas the odd numbered years (1983, 1999, etc) were typically standout years for me. However, I think it's time for this pattern to be shaken up.

Cheers to being great in 2008! :-)
